Accessibility
Accessibility statement
We want everyone to be able to use Family Law Week, including people who are blind or partially sighted, deaf or hard of hearing, or who have motor, cognitive or learning disabilities. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.
What you can do on this site
- Make text up to 150% larger, and zoom the page to 400% without content being cut off.
- Switch to high contrast, dark mode, underlined links, wider line spacing or a font designed for low vision, using the accessibility button at the bottom left of every page.
- Stop all animations, including the homepage slideshow and the latest news ticker.
- Navigate using just a keyboard, with a visible focus outline and a “Skip to main content” link.
- Use a screen reader: pages use headings, landmarks and labelled controls.
The site also follows the settings on your device: if you have reduced motion or dark mode turned on, we use them automatically.
Compliance status
This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2 AA standard, because of the older content listed below. The site’s own pages, menus, forms and templates meet the standard.
Known limitations
- Some older articles and case summaries were moved from our previous website and may contain images without text descriptions. We are reviewing these.
- Some older PDF documents may not be fully accessible to screen readers.
- Videos and podcasts hosted by third parties (such as YouTube) depend on those services for captions and transcripts.
If you need any content in a different format, please ask and we will help.
Feedback and contact
If you find a problem or need information in another format, contact us at info@familylawweek.co.uk or call 01249 715 710. You can also use our contact page. We aim to reply within five working days.
How we tested this site
We test every type of page on the site against WCAG 2.2 AA in light and dark mode. Our checks cover colour contrast, text alternatives, headings, labels and target sizes; that keyboard focus is never hidden behind the header; that pages work at 320 pixels wide without sideways scrolling; and that text stays readable with increased line, letter and word spacing. We also test using a keyboard alone.
