Job description:

The Southampton, Fareham & Havant Legal Partnership is an outcome-focused service recognised for its dedication to improving the communities in which we live and work. We provide strategic and professional advice and services covering all aspects of local government law.

The Council is looking for a practising solicitor or barrister to join our childcare team dealing with cases, covering all aspects of children’s social care including care proceedings, pre-proceedings, adoption and deprivation of liberty matters. The Council is looking for someone with subject area experience, strong advocacy and advisory skills, and competence with IT and case management systems. You will need an enabling, positive approach and have good appreciation of risk management and the ability to work across a multi skilled team. Please note, depending on your level of expertise, you will be appointed to Grade 11 with salary up to £55,648.

The Council has a flexible working system that includes majority home/hybrid working (with some routine office attendance), with adaptable working hours (subject to clients’ needs). Court hearings are in-person, with the majority of hearings taking place in Southampton or Portsmouth.
